چکیده
Abstract Background Although laparoscopic hepatectomy (LH) is associated with improved short-term outcomes compared to open (OH), it unknown whether frail patients also benefit from LH. The aim of this study was evaluate the impact frailty on postoperative after LH and OH. Methods Consecutive who underwent OH between January 2011 December 2018 were identified a prospective database. Frailty assessed using modified Index (mFI), scoring mFI ≥ 1 deemed be frail. Results Of 1826 patients, 34.7% (N=634) 18.6% (N=340) elderly (≥ 75 years). Frail had significantly higher 90-day mortality (6.6% vs. 2.9%, p<0.001) complications (36.3% 26.1%, than those not frail, effects that independent patient age multivariate analysis. For undergoing minor resections, benefits similar for non-frail patients. Length hospital stay 53% longer in (vs. LH) 58% subgroup Conclusions independently inferior hepatectomy. However, (compared open) are should contraindication carefully selected
